What students will make/understand by the end of the learning segment:

Students created a biome diptych, including a painting of their chosen biome along with an animal that lives in that biome. Students learned about how to create a balanced composition, how to mix colors, create secondary colors, and how to create contrast using complementary colors. They also learned about different watercolor techniques and how to create texture using these techniques.

How does sketching help in the process of watercolor?

How can students use different textures from class to represent their animals?

How can students use different textures from class to represent their biome?

How can we create a composition with more than one component?
